ABOVE ALL…
Good food
We believe that your stay at Residencial Palmeiras should be a solid base for exploring Maputo City. That’s why we take breakfast very seriously. Hearty food, fresh rolls, delicious marmalades and sweet Portuguese custard tarts are on the menu, and we’ll prepare whatever you’d like according to your wishes. It goes without saying that there’ll be a good pot of fresh coffee or tea to top it all off.
A good way to start your day in Maputo.
“A lovely quiet and pretty place to rest for the night. Thank you so much for the lovely breakfast… The Portuguese custard tarts were delicious.”
ROB & MEG PALMER

…AND ALMOST AS IMPORTANTLY
A place to relax
If you like, we’ll serve your food outside in our leafy courtyard garden, where you can sit in the shade. It’s a place that captures what Residencial Palmeiras really is at the heart: an oasis of quiet and relaxation in a busy city.
DINING AROUND TOWN
Restaurants & Pubs
Maputo is a pretty cosmopolitan town with lots of fine dining restaurants, some you can’t miss, some hidden away… We’ve compiled a short list of suggestions, but there’s much more. We’ll be happy to point you to many more places where you can enjoy great food while you’re here.
SPAZIO RESTAURANT
Meat is meat, and chicken is salad, as they say. The best meat – the best steak in Mozambique – is found here. Spazio is a recently refurbished local restaurant with a great atmosphere, outside seating, and a smoky indoors bar.

COSTA DO SOL RESTAURANT
A Maputo classic dating from 1938, this beachside place draws the crowds on weekend afternoons. There’s seating on the large sea-facing porch or indoors, and an array of seafood dishes and grills, with prawns the speciality.

THE TROUGH OF THE GODS
The “Manjar dos Deuses”, as it’s called in Portuguese, is an excellent little restaurant in Maputo center. If you’re looking for steak done right, look no further. Or maybe, eat then look further. Maputo restaurants are competitive!
